Except it’s not true. Nintendo is straight-up lying and trying to equate emulation with piracy when it’s absolutely not. Emulation is perfectly legal and does not in any way require piracy. Nor does this tournament require piracy. Nintendo isn’t threatening to sue for piracy, because they can’t. There are no legal grounds for it.
I can’t stress this enough: Nintendo, are straight up, unambiguously lying. Or at best, providing an argument that they know doesn’t hold up in court for pr purposes. It’s scummy as hell and super anti-consumer. They are simply revoking broadcast rights cause they don’t like people streaming emulated games.
